Overview

The Green Book Project has received a handful of feedback from supporters/investors regarding the confusion around investing on the chosen campaign platform. Investing itself is a daunting task so there was an extra layer of uncertainty with the website. In order to reduce the friction supporters were feeling, TGBP team created a "How to Invest" webpage to educate investors on how to join in on the crowdfunding.

What's The Green Book Project?

A crowd-sourced review app that helps users from marginalized groups (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, folks with cognitive and physical disabilities, etc) find welcoming and inclusive businesses. Think Yelp but with an inclusive lens! Its primary focus is helping folks from these communities (and allies!) discover spaces to frequent and/or avoid.

Problem at Hand

The Green Book Project needed to create an educational resource to build up potential investors' confidence when trying to invest in their crowdfunding campaign.

The Results Show:

Thanks to this educational resource, The Green Book Project was able to educate supporters and investors on the in's and out's of investing on their crowdfunding platform. This resource has helped garner over $51,000!

What did I learn from this?

Because the goal of this webpage was to educate the user, I had to be super mindful not to over complicate things! I wanted to be doubly sure that information was presented in a way that was digestible and easy to comprehend. This is all to say: Less is more!

I also had to keep in mind the different experience users would have depending on their device. All in all, mobile first design was key in this design solution!
